Walter J. Porter's mother had a dream that her son would not have to work on the farm as a sharecropper as his father was and that he would get an education. This blog tells of the many hats he wore, and how he wore each of them exceptionally well. He wore them so well, that when he died, the community of San Diego saw it fit to name two Elementary Schools after him.
